I am probably the best objective (CTF and Oddball) player on KtK. I would like to give some tips and if you would like to work with me I would be happy to help.

Tips:
- (Oddball Only) Jumping to your death. It gives your team a chance to regroup and keeps the opponent from gaining time if noone is near the ball. It also gains 3 or 4 seconds more time if you jump right and don't die.

- Dropping the ball/flag to try and get a kills. Don't try it if there is more than one person around and you are alone because its not probable that you will get a double or triple kill and be able to pick the ball/flag back up alone. In oddball you might get that 5 more seconds while jumping around, or in flag you might get the flag close enough to a teammate that they could pick it up when/if you die.

- Dropping the ball/flag to kill 1 person. Good ideas if they sneak up on you is hit them with the ball/flag, drop it, then get a headshot w/ the BR. Also try an jumping over players because they might not see you and you could get an assassination.

- Running Away. Running away does not make you a coward, just put down your head and run the map. You know it well enough that you dont need to see. You may get lucky enough to avoid them, or you might run into a teammate who could help you.

- Know the map. If you know special jumps, you could be a much better player. In oddball guardian, I like to jump from top mid/ window ramp down past the man cannon, or drop from S3 to S1 (talk to Corey on this he is good at it). In CTF Narrows, a good jump is from the ledge facing the falg down to the flag ledge. Use this jump to go get the flag and to score it. Don't try and make the jump if you one shot w/ the flag because you may be shot and drop the flag off the map.

- (CTF Only) Hiding. Hide when you have the flag, they dont have a indicator. If you grab the flag on Narrows, run to the very bottom that goes to man cannon (not bottom tunnel near sniper) and stand there till you think its safe. You dont always have to bumrush the flag home. Being sneaky can lead to you advantage and inevitable win.

Thanks Andy, these are good tips. Hopefully, just through playing lots of objectives, the rest of us can become better objective players. This will make us a much more effective team.

Yeah and when the 4 of us are online maybe we can play some Team Objective in Matchmaking. We can take turns holding the ball/running the flag and you can give us pointers while protecting us.

I don't think I've ever tried that one. Do you have to crouch at the end or is it simple to do?

its a simple jump you have to crouch depending on where you want to land but 99% of the time you just simply jump.....i think.
